[WotD] Monday, May 11


As is going to be a recurring theme, there’s more stuff with my byline on it at ShrinkGeek up today, and from over the weekend.

Had pretty high hopes coming into today, having finally kicked the residual soreness from Friday’s insanity, but it just wasn’t to be.

It was just one of those days where I just felt weak all around. I realize that “weak” is a relative term, since a year ago, I’d have killed to do a workout like this.

Lunch:

– Pull-Ups – 54# KB – 1×8
– Deadlift – 285# – 2×5 – 230# – 2×8
– Bicep 7’s – 83#
– Light stretching

After Hours:

– Pull-Ups – 54# KB – 2×7, 1×1 (45 sec negative) (This latter was separated from the first sets by about 55 minutes, bookending the session)
– Bench Press – 140# – 1×8
– Deadlift – 285# – 2×6
– Elliptical – 10 min – 2 min intervals
– Calf Raises – 300# – 1×50
– Machine Leg Press – 300# – 1×10 – 340# – 1×10 – 400# & 380# – 0x0 (couldn’t even move the stack today)
– Pull-Ups – Bodyweight – 2×15
– Pushups – 45/55/35/30/48 (failure) – Week 6, Day 1, Column 3 of the Hundred Pushups Program
– 2x Bicep 7’s – 68#, 48# (wide EZ Bar grip)
