5/3/1 – Overhead Press
This is de-load week, which, the theory goes, gives the muscles a chance to rest and recover from the challenging shenanigans of the week prior, and allows for some extra development and adaptation to occur.
In other words, it feels like slacking off, but it’s intentional slack. Bob Dobbs would approve.
Looks like I’ll be doing the Jason Statham / Transporter costume at the office Friday. I need a pair of driving gloves and maybe an attache case.
Assorted stretches, primarily hips and shoulders.
Assorted light (10#) shoulder work while using the elliptical (front, lateral, Arnold, and something between a lateral raise and a rear flye)
Overhead Press: 3×5 @ 55 / 3×5 @ 65 / 3×5 @ 75
Assistance Work: 5×10 Pullups / 1×5 dips*
* My left shoulder (the usual suspects – the the teres major & minor) told me to go fuck myself, and didn’t respond to any of my usual stretching tricks.
