15/9/3+ – Overhead Press & Squat

Doubled up today, since the OHP didn’t get done yesterday evening. K joined me, but focused on her own stuff, with me spotting and doing a little bit of advising (not too much needed, though; she’s on the ball).

Warmups:

Bench Press: 1×15 @ 45

Overhead Press: 1×10@ 45 / 1×10 @ 65 / 1×5 @ 85

Overhead Squat: 1×5 @ 45 / 1×5 @ 65

Front Squat: 1×5 @ 45 / 1×5 @ 65 / 1×5 @ 95

Squat: 1×10 @ 135 (ass to grass)

Work Sets:

Overhead Press: 3×5 @ 105 / 3×5 @ 120 / 2×5 @ 135 / 1×1 @ 150 (PR)

Overhead Squat: 1×3 @ 85 (PR)

Front Squat: 1×5 @ 150 (PR)

Squat: 3×5 @ 185 / 3×5 @ 205

Gratifying to see the OHP is still creeping upwards a few pounds at a time, but I think I’m just about at my limit – the second rep at 150# only got about eyebrow-high. I suspect that 155 may be where I top out this cycle, and have to back off and begin ratcheting up again. 135# felt remarkably easy getting cleaned to my shoulders, which wasa pleasant surprise.
